6Workforce signals combined: engagement, absence, overtime, tenure, training and performance.
4Scenario states for baseline, overtime spike, engagement dip and training response.
90-dayForward-looking risk view to help managers intervene before capacity drops.
Action queuePrioritized employee-level recommendations without exposing unnecessary personal detail.
The Business Problem
Many workforce dashboards report what already happened: headcount, absence, attrition and engagement. That is useful, but it often reaches managers too late. By the time attrition is visible in a monthly report, the team has already lost capacity and the business is already absorbing replacement, overtime or service risk.
WorkIQ Analytics reframes the problem. Instead of asking only how many people left, the product asks which teams are under pressure now, what is driving that pressure and what action a manager should take next.
The Product Question
I designed the demo around one management question:
Can workforce signals be turned into a clear action queue before teams lose people, coverage or productivity?
This makes the product different from a traditional HR scorecard. The goal is not only to summarize workforce health. The goal is to show where management attention can reduce risk.
My Role
I designed the product concept, built the synthetic workforce dataset, created the scoring logic, structured the filters and scenarios, designed the KPI layer, built the manager action queue and shaped the executive narrative so a visitor can understand the product quickly.
The work combines data analytics development, BI design, predictive-scoring logic and practical AI-style explanation into a single browser-based demo.
The Solution Architecture
WorkIQ is organized as a simple decision workflow. The visible dashboard is only the final layer. The important design choice is that the product connects signals to action, not just signals to charts.
Workforce data
Collect operational signals Employee role, department, location, engagement, overtime, absence, tenure, training and performance are brought into one analytical view.
Unified profile Each record has enough context for risk scoring.
Risk logic
Score pressure The model weights low engagement, high absence, overtime exposure, tenure patterns, training gaps and performance indicators.
Risk score Employees and teams can be ranked by intervention need.
Scenario layer
Simulate operating pressure Managers can test overtime spikes, engagement dips and training pushes.
Management view The dashboard shows how risk changes under different conditions.
BI interface
Expose decisions KPIs, department risk, coverage pressure, forecast and action queue are shown in one flow.
Action queue Managers see who needs attention and why.
The Dashboard Experience
The demo opens with a concise executive summary, scenario buttons, department and location filters, risk threshold control and KPI cards. These controls are deliberately close to the result view so the user can see the business impact of each filter immediately.
The main view shows risk by department, a manager action queue, a selected employee retention profile, coverage pressure and a 90-day forecast. I designed the workflow for managers who need to move quickly from question to action.
Decisions Enabled
WorkIQ helps answer practical management questions: which teams are carrying the highest attrition pressure, which employees are likely to need support, whether overtime or low engagement is the main driver, how much replacement exposure exists and where training or workload balancing may reduce risk.
For HR, it supports workforce planning. For operations, it highlights coverage risk. For finance, it turns people-risk into a cost-exposure conversation.
What Makes It Useful
The product avoids presenting risk as a black box. Each recommendation is connected to observable drivers, such as absence, engagement, overtime, tenure or training. That makes the output easier to challenge, explain and act on.
This is important because workforce analytics is sensitive. Managers need evidence, not just a score. A score without a reason does not create trust.
What The Project Does Not Prove
WorkIQ is a portfolio demonstration, not a production HR model. It does not claim validated attrition prediction accuracy, HRIS integration, legal compliance review or live employee monitoring.
The project demonstrates the product thinking and analytics pattern: data signals, scoring, explanation, dashboarding and manager action design.
Technology
Analytics: workforce KPI design, risk scoring, segmentation and scenario analysis. BI design: slicers, KPI cards, threshold controls, action queues and executive summaries. Implementation: browser-based JavaScript demo with synthetic workforce data and exportable manager queue.
The Value In One Sentence
WorkIQ Analytics shows how I turn workforce data into a practical management product: not just a dashboard showing what happened, but a decision layer that helps managers act before risk becomes a business cost.
